Anna Noyons, graduate of Industrial Design at TU Delft, is exploring the possibilities of designing towards a flourishing future.
Seemingly, biodegradable plastic is one of the options. However, from a holistic point of view, the benefits of bio-based plastics do not lay in the so appealing degradability feature.
In search for 'green solutions' that will lead us to a better world, it is important to understand what it is exactly that we are talking about and to keep in mind the entire life cycle of products and their impact, to prevent to fall for quick and dirty fixes that do more harm then good in the end. Clear communication, openness and cooperation between designers, users, universities, retailers and industry, in short; between people, will be a huge challenge for the future. With this short movie, Anna tries to create some 'awareness'.
